Balconies in Malaysian condos are often hot, windy and only sunny for part of the day. This kit is meant to help you get growing in that kind of space; the contents are listed on the shop page.

  1. Watch your balcony for a day and note how many hours of direct sun it gets.
  2. Choose crops to match: leafy greens and herbs for 4–6 hours of sun, fruiting crops only for 6 hours or more.
  3. Use containers with drainage holes and a saucer or tray to protect the floor.
  4. Water in the morning; in hot, windy weather small pots may need a second check in the late afternoon.
  5. Feed lightly and regularly, following the fertilizer label.

Tip: check your building's rules on balcony loads and drainage before adding many large pots — wet soil is heavier than it looks.
