Many seedlings look almost identical for their first couple of weeks, and it is easy to forget when you sowed a pot. Plant labels solve both problems and help you learn from each crop.

Write the crop name, the variety if you know it, and the sowing date.
Push the label into the tray cell, pot or bed right after sowing.
When you transplant, move the label with the plant.
Add a note of the first harvest date if you like — next time you will know what to expect.

Tip: sun and rain fade many ordinary pens. A soft pencil or a waterproof marker lasts much longer outdoors in Malaysian weather.
